Bengaluru: Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) has appointed Mr. Ambrish Tripathi as Director (Human Resources) and Mr. Anoop Kumar Rai as Director (Marketing) on its Board with effect from August 13, 2026.
The appointments were approved by the Ministry of Defence through orders issued on August 12, 2026. BEL subsequently approved both appointments through a circular resolution with effect from August 13.
Ambrish Tripathi Appointed Director (HR)
Mr. Ambrish Tripathi has been appointed as Director (Human Resources) with DIN 11888363. Before taking charge, he was serving as General Manager of BEL’s Kotdwar Unit since January 1, 2024.
Tripathi joined BEL in 1991 as an R&D Engineer after completing his B.Tech in Electronics and Communication from NIT Allahabad. During his career spanning more than three decades, he has worked across several key functions, including Production, Material Management, Marketing and Information Systems.
His tenure as Director (HR) will continue until his superannuation on December 31, 2028, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Key Contributions of Ambrish Tripathi
During his long association with BEL, Tripathi has contributed to several technology and digital transformation initiatives.
His key achievements include:
- Playing a major role in implementing SAP across BEL.
- Leading the first PSU-level File Lifecycle Management system for digital file creation.
- Driving the implementation of Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI).
- Supporting the adoption of emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence and Blockchain.
- Receiving a Home Ministry Award for implementation of the best IT process for prevention of corruption.
- Contributing to major defence programmes including IACCS, Sanjay (BSS), Akashteer and indigenous NC3I.
- Supporting exports of Coastal Surveillance Systems to Maldives, Seychelles and Mauritius.
- Contributing to civilian diversification initiatives, including India’s indigenous Air Traffic Management Automation system and KAVACH 4.0 for Indian Railways.

Anoop Kumar Rai Appointed Director (Marketing)
Mr. Anoop Kumar Rai has been appointed as Director (Marketing) with DIN 11888162.
Rai took charge of his new position after serving as Executive Director (CRL-Ghaziabad) since August 1, 2025. He has around 33 years of experience and has worked extensively in defence technologies and strategic projects.
His tenure as Director (Marketing) will continue until his superannuation on September 30, 2028, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Anoop Kumar Rai’s Key Contributions
Rai has played a role in developing and deploying advanced defence and technology solutions during his career at BEL.
His key contributions include:
- Spearheading the development of the AI-powered ‘Saksham’ Drone Warfare System.
- Conceptualising the AI-based Command Information & Decision Support System (CIDSS).
- Supporting advanced technologies deployed under the IACCS Project.
- Driving diversification into AI-enabled civilian infrastructure solutions.
- Working on indigenous technology solutions to address complex military requirements.
BEL Completes Regulatory Disclosures
BEL has intimated the appointments to the stock exchanges in accordance with Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.
The company has also confirmed that both directors are not related to any existing director of BEL and are not debarred from holding the office of director by any SEBI order or other statutory authority.
The appointments are aimed at strengthening BEL’s leadership across key functional areas, particularly human resources and marketing, as the company continues to expand its defence and technology operations.
