New Delhi: Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), a Navratna Defence Public Sector Undertaking (PSU), has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) to jointly pursue opportunities in Sovereign Data Centre Infrastructure.
The MoU was signed on September 19, 2026, at Yashobhoomi, New Delhi, and aims to bring together the capabilities of the two organisations to develop and position a fully indigenous, integrated and sovereign technology stack for high-stakes national infrastructure deployments.
The partnership is expected to strengthen India’s domestic Information and Communication Technology (ICT) capabilities and support the development of technology solutions for programmes of strategic importance.
BEL and C-DAC Join Hands for Sovereign Data Centre Infrastructure
Under the MoU, BEL and C-DAC will jointly explore and pursue opportunities related to sovereign data centre infrastructure.
The collaboration seeks to combine BEL’s experience in system integration and strategic infrastructure with C-DAC’s expertise in indigenously developed computing and ICT technologies.
The partnership will focus on building solutions that are:
- Fully indigenous
- Integrated across the technology stack
- Sovereign in design and deployment
- Suitable for strategic and high-stakes national infrastructure
- Aligned with the strengthening of India’s domestic ICT ecosystem
The initiative is intended to demonstrate the capabilities of Indian technology and engineering organisations in delivering solutions for critical national requirements.

BEL to Act as System Integrator, C-DAC as Technology Partner
A key aspect of the partnership is the clearly defined role of the two organisations.
Under the MoU:
- BEL will act as the System Integrator (SI).
- C-DAC will act as the Technology Partner.
- C-DAC will provide indigenously developed products and solutions.
- Both organisations will jointly work on design, development, engineering, integration, testing and production.
The collaboration will cover both current and future programmes of strategic importance, allowing the two organisations to work together across different stages of technology development and deployment.
Focus on Indigenous Design, Development and System Engineering
The partnership will extend beyond the deployment of existing technologies. BEL and C-DAC will collaborate on indigenous design and development, system engineering and integration.

Several senior officials from both organisations were also present during the signing ceremony.
From BEL, Hemavathy M, General Manager (Network & Cyber Security), and Ruchi Pant, General Manager (Technology Planning), attended the event.
From C-DAC, Commodore Sandeep Wadhwa, Executive Director (Corporate & Government Business), and Prashant Dinde, Associate Director, C-DAC Pune, were present along with other senior officials.
