New Delhi: In a significant boost to indigenous defence manufacturing, BEML Limited has bagged an order worth ₹185.65 crore from the Ministry of Defence (MoD) for the supply of 79 units of its flagship Power Angling & Tilting (PAT) bulldozers.
In a regulatory filing on Friday, the Bengaluru-based public sector company confirmed the development and highlighted that the order reflects growing confidence in its defence engineering capabilities.
“This order reinforces our steadfast commitment to the Government of India’s ‘Make in India’ initiative and our resolve to equip the nation’s armed forces with reliable, high-quality, and indigenously developed solutions,” said Shantanu Roy, Chairman and Managing Director, BEML Ltd.
Follow-Up to Timely Execution of Earlier Order
The new contract follows the successful and timely delivery of 66 PAT bulldozers under a previous MoD order, which further cemented BEML’s reputation for timely and quality project execution. The bulldozers are designed for rugged terrain and strategic utility in military operations, including road building, fortification, and logistics support in challenging environments.
Strengthening Indigenous Capabilities
This latest deal is another step forward in the government’s push for self-reliance in defence manufacturing. BEML’s bulldozers are fully developed and manufactured in India, contributing directly to national defence readiness and industrial growth.
Under the administrative control of the Ministry of Defence, BEML Limited operates in three key verticals:
- Defence and Aerospace
- Rail and Metro
- Construction and Mining Equipment
The company is a major supplier of vehicles and machinery for the Indian Armed Forces and infrastructure sectors.
