State-owned BEML Ltd has announced that it has received approval from the Chhattisgarh state cabinet to acquire 100 acres of land in Janjgir-Champa district at a nominal rate of Re. 1 per acre. The land will be used to establish a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility for heavy earth moving equipment.
In an exchange filing, BEML disclosed that this move aligns with its expansion plans and is aimed at enhancing indigenous production capacity for critical infrastructure and mining equipment.
The proposed unit will help BEML strengthen its manufacturing capabilities in eastern India, while also generating employment and supporting local economic development in the region.
