BEML Wins $6.23 Million Export Orders for Mining Equipment from CIS Region, Expands Footprint to Uzbekistan

India’s Defence PSU Continues Strategic Push in Global Markets with Advanced Heavy Machinery Exports
Indian Masterminds Stories

New Delhi: In a strategic boost to India’s defence and industrial exports, BEML Limited, a premier Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) under the Ministry of Defence, has secured two significant export orders worth a total of $6.23 million from countries in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) region, including Uzbekistan.

This marks another key milestone in BEML’s global expansion strategy, reinforcing its growing stature as a trusted exporter of heavy-duty mining and infrastructure equipment.

Breakthrough Orders for Specialized Equipment
The first order, from a CIS country, is for the supply of 10 heavy-duty bulldozers specifically engineered to operate in extremely low temperatures, down to -50°C. These machines will support mining operations in some of the most challenging and remote environments in the region.

The second order – a first-of-its-kind from Uzbekistan – includes the delivery of one unit of BEML’s high-performance Motor Grader, vital for road development and maintenance in mining zones. This order adds Uzbekistan as the 73rd country to BEML’s growing export footprint.

A Milestone for BEML’s Global Expansion
BEML’s Chairman and Managing Director Shantanu Roy expressed confidence in the company’s momentum in global markets.

“This is a significant win for BEML and a reflection of our growing global competitiveness,” said Roy. “Our entry into the Uzbekistan market and continued success in the CIS region reaffirm our strategic vision to become a leading player in the international mining and defence markets.”

The company emphasized its continued commitment to design innovation, manufacturing excellence, and technology-driven solutions that are rugged, efficient, and adapted to local operating conditions.

CIS Market: A Strategic Focus for BEML
The resource-rich CIS region, particularly Russia, Kazakhstan, and Central Asia, has emerged as a major market for durable mining machinery. BEML’s growing presence here enhances India’s industrial diplomacy while opening new avenues for collaboration in mining and infrastructure sectors.

The company’s track record in delivering high-performance machinery in extreme conditions is a key competitive advantage as global demand for sustainable and reliable heavy equipment continues to grow.

BEML’s Export Portfolio and Capabilities
BEML manufactures and exports a wide range of equipment, including-

  • Large and medium-sized dump trucks
  • Hydraulic excavators
  • Dozers, motor graders, and wheel loaders
  • Pipe layers, crushers, and water sprinklers
  • Electric and hybrid variants aligned with sustainable mining goals

These machines support mining, road construction, infrastructure, irrigation, and material handling projects across domestic and international markets.

Boost to ‘Make in India’ and Export-Led Growth
The latest order strengthens India’s defence manufacturing and ‘Make in India’ export strategy, while aligning with national goals of enhancing self-reliance and positioning Indian PSUs as global manufacturing champions.

BEML’s expanding international presence is also expected to generate foreign exchange, enhance brand equity, and support local employment through production and servicing support.
