New Delhi: Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), a Navratna Defence Public Sector Undertaking, has announced significant defence orders worth ₹2,323 crore (excluding taxes) from Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Ltd (MDL), Mumbai and Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers (GRSE), Kolkata. These orders are for the supply of base and depot spares for missile systems deployed on Indian Naval ships, ensuring the operational continuity of critical onboard defence systems.
The announcement was made through a formal exchange filing by BEL on Wednesday, June 4, 2025.
Strategic Orders for Naval Defence Support
The newly secured orders will support mission-critical equipment on India’s naval platforms. BEL stated, “The spares will ensure operational continuity of onboard mission-critical equipment,” emphasizing the importance of the order in enhancing fleet readiness and reliability of naval weapon systems.
Additionally, BEL revealed it received fresh orders worth ₹537 crore on Wednesday alone.
These include-
- Integrated Drone Detection and Interdiction System (IDDIS)
- Software Defined Radio (SDR)
- Data Communication Unit (DCU) for attack guns
- AI-based shipboard solutions
- Simulators, jammers, software, spares, test rigs, and support services
BEL’s Order Book Nears FY26 Targets
Since the beginning of FY2025-26, BEL has secured over ₹6,200 crore in orders, reaching nearly 25% of its full-year order target of ₹27,000 crore. The company has set its sights even higher, projecting a potential order inflow of ₹57,000 crore for the year, contingent on securing large defence contracts such as the Quick Reaction Surface-to-Air Missile (QRSAM) systems.

Shares of Bharat Electronics Ltd closed 0.90% higher at ₹394.10 apiece on the NSE. The stock has demonstrated strong momentum, rising-

FY25 Performance: Record Turnover and Profit Growth
In its Q4 FY25 results, BEL reported-
- Net Profit: ₹2,127 crore (up 18% YoY)
- Revenue from Operations: ₹9,150 crore (up 7% YoY)
For the full financial year 2024-25, the company achieved–
- PAT: ₹5,288.25 crore (up 31.55%)
- Turnover: ₹23,024.10 crore (up 16.17%)
