Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has secured a major contract from Chhattisgarh State Power Generation Company Limited (CSPGCL) to develop a 2×660 MW supercritical thermal power plant at Hasdeo Thermal Power Station in Korba West. This order was awarded through domestic competitive bidding.
BHEL will be responsible for designing, engineering, and manufacturing essential components, including the Supercritical Boiler, Turbine, and Generator. Additionally, the company will oversee the plant’s complete erection, testing, and commissioning. To curb SOx emissions, BHEL will also supply advanced Flue Gas Desulphurization (FGD) equipment.
With over 1,72,000 MW of installed utility power capacity nationwide, BHEL remains a key player in strengthening India’s energy infrastructure and advancing self-reliance in the power sector.
