In a significant bureaucratic reshuffle, the Bihar government transferred seven senior IAS officers on Tuesday. Notably, Chaitanya Prasad was removed from his role as Development Commissioner, with Pratyay Amrit appointed as his successor. The Development Commissioner position is considered the second-most crucial post in Bihar’s administrative hierarchy, after the Chief Secretary.
According to the official notification, Chaitanya Prasad has now been reassigned as the Chief Investigation Commissioner in the General Administration Department. Meanwhile, Mihir Kumar Singh has been appointed as the new Additional Chief Secretary of the Road Construction Department. Previously, Singh had held multiple portfolios, including overseeing the Panchayati Raj Department, the Mines and Geology Department, and the Chief Investigation Commissioner role. With this new appointment, he will be relieved of his other duties and focus solely on his new position in the Road Construction Department.
