Patna: In a significant administrative shake-up, the Nitish Kumar-led Bihar government on Tuesday transferred 12 IAS officers and 6 IPS officers, while also appointing Sub-Divisional Officers (SDOs) in 36 subdivisions. The reshuffle aims to fast-track development projects and enhance administrative efficiency across districts.
According to the notification issued by the General Administration Department, the 12 IAS officers have been appointed as Deputy Development Commissioners (DDCs) in various districts, with immediate effect.

Key IAS Transfers – Shubham Kumar Appointed as Municipal Commissioner, Bhagalpur
Dr. Preeti (IAS 2019), previously Commissioner of Bhagalpur Municipal Corporation, has been appointed DDC-cum-CEO, Jehanabad District Council.
Anupama Singh (IAS 2020), earlier DDC-cum-CEO, Bhojpur Ara, has been moved to the Health Department as Joint Secretary.
Gunjan Singh (IAS 2020) will now serve as DDC-cum-CEO, Bhojpur Ara.
Shubham Kumar (IAS 2021) becomes the new Municipal Commissioner, Bhagalpur. Shubham is UPSC topper of Civil Services Exam – 2020. He hails from Katihar, Bihar.
Shailaja Pandey (IAS 2021) is posted as DDC-cum-CEO, Samastipur District Council.
Shivakshi Dixit (IAS 2021) is appointed Municipal Commissioner, Munger.
Surya Pratap Singh (IAS 2021) becomes DDC-cum-CEO, Bhabua Kaimur.
Praveen Kumar (IAS 2021) is now DDC-cum-CEO, Begusarai District Council.
Akash Chaudhary (IAS 2021) takes charge as DDC-cum-CEO, Buxar.
Sara Ashraf (IAS 2021) is now DDC-cum-CEO, Supaul.
Anil Basak (IAS 2021) has been posted as DDC-cum-CEO, Madhepura.
Laxman Tiwari (IAS 2021) becomes Municipal Commissioner, Bettiah.
IPS Reshuffle
The Home Department also announced the transfer of 6 senior IPS officers:
Rajeev Ranjan-1 (IPS 2012), SP, Economic Offences Unit, Patna, is now SP, State Crime Records Bureau.
Rakesh Kumar Sinha (IPS 2012), formerly SP at the Lokayukta Office, is the new SP, Vigilance Investigation Bureau.
Pankaj Kumar (IPS 2013), SP, Crime Records Bureau, is appointed SP, Economic Offences Unit, Patna.
Anant Kumar Rai (IPS 2016) has been posted as Assistant Inspector General (Traffic).
Manish Kumar Sinha (IPS 2018) and Rajesh Kumar (IPS 2018) have also been reassigned, details of which are expected shortly.
This large-scale reshuffle comes ahead of the monsoon and project deadlines, with the state government aiming to strengthen grassroots implementation of development schemes and improve policing efficiency.
