Patna: In a significant bureaucratic reshuffle, the Nitish Kumar-led Bihar government has reassigned responsibilities to several senior IAS officers. The General Administration Department issued the official notification on Monday, outlining new postings and additional charges for nine officers.
New Appointments and Charges:
- 1990 batch IAS officer Chaitanya Prasad, Chief Investigation Commissioner in the General Administration Department, has been given the additional charge of Chairman, Revenue Board.
- B Rajender, Additional Chief Secretary in the General Administration Department, has been assigned the additional charge of Director General, Bihar Institute of Public Administration and Rural Development (BIPARD).
- 2010 batch IAS officer Rachna Patil, currently Special Secretary in the General Administration Department, will now also serve as Additional Director General of BIPARD.
- 1996 batch IAS officer HR Srinivasa, who was awaiting posting, has been appointed Principal Secretary of the Backward and Extremely Backward Classes Welfare Department.
- 2010 batch IAS officer Pankaj Kumar, Principal Secretary of the Public Health Engineering Department, has been given the additional charge of Director, Food and Consumer Protection Department, and Managing Director, Bihar State Food and Civil Supplies Corporation.
- 1998 batch IAS officer Narmadeshwar Lal, Principal Secretary of the Mines and Geology Department, has been appointed Principal Secretary, Minor Water Resources Department.
- 2005 batch IAS officer Ajay Yadav, Secretary of the Education Department, will now serve as Secretary, Prohibition, Excise and Registration Department.
- 2005 batch IAS officer Devesh Sehra, Secretary, Scheduled Caste and Tribe Welfare Department, has been reassigned as Secretary, Mines and Geology Department.
- 2005 batch IAS officer Sandeep Kumar R Pudakalkatti, Secretary of the Minor Water Resources Department, has been appointed Transport Secretary and will also hold additional charge of Road Construction Department Secretary.
- 2009 batch IAS officer Manoj Kumar, Secretary of the Backward and Extremely Backward Classes Welfare Department, has been made Secretary, Panchayati Raj Department.
The reshuffle aims to improve administrative efficiency and strengthen governance across crucial departments, ranging from welfare and education to infrastructure and public service delivery.
