Bihar: 50 IAS Officers Transferred, Pankaj Kumar Made Director, Primary Education

The government of Bihar has recently orchestrated a major bureaucratic reshuffle by transferring as many as 50 IAS officers. The IAS transferees include more than a dozen district magistrates. The major bureaucratic shake-up has been mandated as part of the state government’s ongoing efforts to optimise administrative efficiency.

Mr. Raj Kumar (2010 batch), last posted as the District Collector of Bhojpur, has been made the Managing Director of the Bihar State Milk Co-Operative Federation Ltd (COMFED).

Mr. Pankaj Kumar (2010 batch), last posted as Collector of Sheopur, has been reassigned as the Director of Primary Education.

Mr. Nayyar Iqbal (2010 batch), who previously served as the Director of the Mines and Geology Department, has been appointed as the Special Secretary of the Food and Consumer Protection Department.

Mr. Rakesh Kumar (2010 batch), previously posted as the District Collector of Lakhisarai, has been appointed as the Director of Consolidation. Officer Kumar has been replaced by Mr. Mithilesh Mishra (2012 batch), who was previously the Director of Consolidation.

Mr. Sunil Kumar Yadav (2012 batch) has been appointed the Additional Secretary of the Labour Resources Department while Mr. Yogendra Singh (2013 batch) has been made the Director of Secondary Education and will also hold the additional charge of Director of the Mid Day Meal programme.

Mr. Anand Sharma (2013 batch) and Mr. Himanshu Kumar Rai (2010 batch) have been appointed Directors in the Panchayati Raj Department. Dr. Jitendra Gupta () has been made the Joint Secretary of the Bihar State Planning Board.

Dr. Vidya Nand Singh (2010 batch) has been appointed the Director of the Statistics Department, while IAS Uditha Singh (2014 batch) has taken over as the District Magistrate of Rohtas. Mr. Roshan Kushwaha (2010 batch) has been made the District Magistrate of Samastipur.

Mr. Sanjay Kumar (IAS) has been appointed the Additional Secretary of the GAD. Mr. Kumar Mangalam has become the Commissioner of the Municipal Corporation in Purnea, and IAS Atul Kumar Verma has been appointed as the Administrator of the Bihar Road Transport Department.

Officer J Priyadarshani (2015 batch) has been transferred to the position of Director in the Land Reform Department. Apart from them, 30 more IAS officers have been reassigned to various positions across the state.
