Patna: The Science, Technology, and Technical Education Department of Bihar is set to make a remarkable presence at the upcoming Patna Book Fair, which will be held at Gandhi Maidan from December 5 to 16, 2025. The department will set up a dedicated stall that highlights its major accomplishments, initiatives, and contributions in the field of science, technology, and technical education. This initiative is aimed at promoting awareness, innovation, and scientific thinking among students, parents, and the general public.

Immersive Virtual Reality Experience on Mars

One of the most anticipated attractions at the stall will be a Virtual Reality (VR) show that takes visitors on a simulated journey to Mars. The VR experience is designed to engage students and visitors in an interactive and educational way, giving them a first-hand experience of space exploration and scientific discovery. According to officials, this innovative initiative is aimed at sparking curiosity and inspiring the younger generation to explore careers in science and technology.

Showcasing Student Innovation and Creativity

In addition to the VR experience, the stall will feature models and projects developed by students of the Government Women Polytechnic College, Patna. These models are designed to demonstrate practical applications of scientific knowledge and technical skills, highlighting the creativity, problem-solving abilities, and technical competence of the students. Visitors will have the opportunity to interact with these models and gain insight into the latest advancements in polytechnic and technical education.

Information on Polytechnic Education and Admissions

The department will also provide detailed information about polytechnic colleges in Bihar, including admission procedures, enrollment criteria, fee structures, and course offerings. Visitors will be able to learn about the various programs available in engineering, technology, and vocational education, helping students and their parents make informed decisions about career paths in technical fields. The initiative aims to ensure that quality technical education is accessible to all segments of society.

Promoting Scientific Thinking and Innovation

The department’s exhibition aims not only to inform but also to inspire scientific thinking and innovation among students and visitors. By combining interactive displays, VR experiences, and student-led projects, the stall provides a unique platform to encourage hands-on learning, experimentation, and exploration of scientific concepts. Officials emphasized that such initiatives are crucial in building a culture of innovation and research among the youth.

Engaging the Community and Future Innovators

The stall is expected to attract a wide range of visitors, including students from local schools and colleges, parents, science enthusiasts, and citizens interested in technological education. Officials noted that the initiative also serves to bridge the gap between government initiatives and community awareness, ensuring that technical education and government-supported scientific programs reach a larger audience. By making technical knowledge accessible and engaging, the department hopes to nurture the next generation of scientists, engineers, and innovators.

The Science, Technology, and Technical Education Department’s presence at the Patna Book Fair reflects its commitment to promoting scientific awareness, technical skills, and innovation among students and the wider community. With its blend of educational exhibits, interactive VR experiences, and student-led projects, the stall promises to be a major highlight of the fair, inspiring curiosity and learning among all visitors.
