Patna: The state government is gearing up for Bihar Diwas 2026, with a three-day cultural extravaganza at Gandhi Maidan, Patna. Education Secretary Dinesh Kumar conducted an on-site inspection of ongoing preparations and directed officials to complete all arrangements on time, ensuring a well-organized and grand celebration.
This year, the theme for Bihar Diwas is “Unnat Bihar, Ujjwal Bihar” reflecting the state’s vision of progress and cultural pride.
Star-Studded Performances Across Three Days
The three-day event will feature performances by nationally acclaimed artists, traditional and contemporary dance, music, theatre, and cultural exhibitions.
March 22 Highlights:
- Bollywood singer Sona Mahapatra will perform on the main stage at Gandhi Maidan.
- Pt. Jagat Narayan Pathak to present Dhruvapad singing at Shri Krishna Memorial Hall.
- Odissi dance and contemporary performances by Riminder Khurana and Prachi Pallavi Sahu.
- Folk music and the timeless play “Gabargichor” by Bhikhari Thakur will be staged at Ravindra Bhavan.
March 23 Highlights:
- Popular playback singer Shaan to perform at Gandhi Maidan.
- Sudipa Ghosh will present a dance-drama based on “Buddh Charit” at Shri Krishna Memorial Hall.
- Ravindra Bhavan to host Surendra Sharma’s humor poetry session and the play “Vaijayanti”.
March 24 Highlights:
- Singer Papon on the main stage.
- Dr. N. Vijayalakshmi to perform Bharatanatyam at SK Memorial Hall.
- Folk music by Chandan Tiwari and “Miracle on Wheels” presentation by Dr. Pasha.
- Ghazal and Mushaira event by Alok Raj at Ravindra Bhavan.

Cultural and Educational Exhibitions
Apart from performances, Gandhi Maidan will host:

- Tourism Pavilion: Showcasing Bihar’s cultural heritage and state departments’ initiatives.
