Patna: The Bihar SC-ST Welfare Department, under the Bihar Mahadalit Vikas Mission, has launched a free driver training program for youth from Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) communities. The initiative aims to provide employment opportunities in private and government sectors by equipping participants with professional driving skills.
Free LMV and HMV Training for SC-ST Youth
The program offers training for both Light Motor Vehicles (LMV) and Heavy Motor Vehicles (HMV) at the Driver Training and Traffic Research Institute in Aurangabad. The training includes free accommodation and meals, making it fully accessible to eligible candidates.
Key eligibility criteria:
- Age: 18 to 40 years
- LMV Training: Matriculation pass or valid LMV learner’s license
- HMV Training: Matriculation pass, one-year experience with LMV permanent license, and HMV learner’s license
Training Duration: LMV – 21 days | HMV – 30 days

Applications are open for all eligible candidates across Bihar, with the last date to apply on February 28, 2026. Selection will be based on eligibility criteria and a first-come, first-served basis.
