In a decisive move to strengthen Bihar’s law enforcement framework, six IPS officers from the Bihar cadre are set to undergo advanced leadership training at the renowned National Police Academy, Hyderabad. As per an official order from the Home Department, these officers will attend the Mid-Career Training Programme (Phase-3) scheduled from December 1 to December 26.
A Step Toward Smarter and More Responsive Policing
The initiative forms a crucial part of Bihar’s strategy to enhance the professional competence of its senior police officers. The training is designed to prepare participants for emerging challenges in modern policing, administrative management, and law and order maintenance. Among the officers nominated for the programme are one Inspector General (IG), one Deputy Inspector General (DIG), and one Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP)-level officer, reflecting the seniority and strategic importance of this batch.
Strengthening Institutional Capacity and Leadership
According to the Home Department, the Bihar Police Headquarters will determine who will handle the ongoing responsibilities of these officers during their absence for the training period. This ensures continuity in policing operations and administrative functioning across the state.
Building Innovation and Efficiency in Bihar’s Law and Order System
Officials believe this advanced training will sharpen the decision-making abilities and leadership qualities of the officers, while also fostering innovation and efficiency in Bihar’s policing system. The exposure to modern policing tools and management practices is expected to promote a more data-driven and people-oriented approach to governance.
National Platform for Learning and Collaboration
Organized by the National Police Academy, Hyderabad, the Mid-Career Training Programme provides a valuable opportunity for IPS officers from across India to exchange knowledge, share field experiences, and learn from best practices. This collaborative environment helps build leadership that is adaptive, tech-savvy, and focused on public service delivery, contributing to the overall improvement of law and order systems nationwide.
