Bihar-cadre IPS officer M Sunil Naik has accused former Madhya Pradesh MP and current Andhra Pradesh assembly deputy speaker K Raghu Ramakrishna Raju of blackmail and threats. The allegations are linked to the 2021 custodial torture case involving former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy and IPS officer P V Sunil Kumar.
Naik went public with the accusations on social media platform X, claiming that he was pressured to speak against the former CM and Sunil Kumar.
IPS Officer Alleges Threats and Blackmail
According to Naik, Raju allegedly tried to coerce him by phone and through a third-party message. “Speak against the former CM and P.V. Sunil Kumar – or you will be made an accused,” Naik said, quoting the alleged threat.
Naik further stated that if Raju’s call data records are made public, they would reveal the scale of pressure and influence exerted on others, suggesting that many were deliberately implicated in the case.
Highlighting his achievements, Naik shared, “I graduated from IIT Madras and earned my IPS position under the ST (Lambadi) quota through merit and hard work. I was topper in my school throughout.”

Claims of Procedural Violations by Andhra Police
The Bihar IPS officer also alleged misconduct by Andhra police officials during their visit to Patna. According to Naik:
- The officials allegedly entered his premises by scaling the compound wall instead of using the main gate.
- No arrest warrant was presented, and the local police were not informed in advance.
- Naik’s 66-year-old mother, M Bheeki Bai, was reportedly locked in her room and left distressed.
Court Intervenes, Protects IPS Officer
A court in Patna rejected the transit remand request for Naik, citing procedural lapses in the arrest attempt. The court directed that Naik should not be arrested for 30 days, taking note of his prior cooperation with legal proceedings.
The court strongly objected to the manner of the arrest and highlighted that Naik had approached the judiciary for remedies, expressing willingness to cooperate with investigations.
Naik’s Statement on Conspiracy Allegations
Naik maintains that he is being targeted due to his tribal identity and professional success. “This is nothing but a conspiracy to trap me. Just because they think that we tribals have no voice,” he said.
He also raised concerns over the lack of investigation into alleged irregularities such as massive gold gifts, land scams, and mining rackets. Naik asserted that he has all evidence and is prepared to present it in court at the appropriate time, ensuring accountability for those who insulted his family.
