Patna: In a major digital governance initiative, the Revenue and Land Reforms Department of Bihar has launched the state’s first toll-free land helpline center, aiming to streamline public access to land-related services and grievances. Citizens can now call 1800-345-6215 to get information, lodge complaints, and track the status of their applications without visiting government offices.
The helpline will be operational for the public from June 3, and will function Monday to Saturday, 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM.
Direct Public Access to Land Information
Inaugurated at the CSC office in Danapur, Patna, by Revenue and Land Reforms Minister Sanjay Saraogi, the helpline center is envisioned as a crucial step toward making land services accessible, transparent, and citizen-friendly.
“This is a step toward digital empowerment of rural Bihar,” said Minister Saraogi. “The aim is to reduce physical visits to government offices by ensuring land-related documents, schemes, and complaints are resolved via a simple phone call.”
Bridging the Information Gap with Trained Agents
Additional Chief Secretary Deepak Kumar Singh noted that land and revenue matters are traditionally complex for common citizens. The helpline, he said, will simplify such matters through trained call agents who can guide callers accurately and sensitively.
Department Secretary Jai Singh highlighted that the helpline strengthens two-way communication between citizens and the government, ensuring that schemes reach their intended beneficiaries and grievances are resolved efficiently.
CSC Network to Support Outreach
Santosh Tiwari, State Head of CSC Bihar, emphasized the role of the Common Services Centre (CSC) network in expanding the helpline’s reach across every panchayat in the state. “This helpline won’t just be an information hub, but also a platform for citizen empowerment and digital literacy,” he said.
