Patna: A new cable suspension bridge, inspired by the iconic Lakshman Jhula of Rishikesh, is almost ready to open on the Punpun River in Punpun city near Patna. The bridge, stretching 320 meters in length, is designed to connect both ghats near the revered Pinddaan site, significantly easing transit and boosting local tourism.
Modern Engineering Marvel in Bihar
According to the Road Construction Department, construction began on August 31, 2019. Initially estimated at Rs 46.77 crore, the project cost escalated to Rs 82.99 crore due to its unique engineering features. Road Construction Minister Nitin Naveen confirmed that the bridge is 99% complete and will soon be accessible to the public.
