Patna: Bihar is set to strengthen its emerging identity as a film production destination, with Arunabh Kumar announcing that several upcoming projects of The Viral Fever, including the film Shiv-Shakti, will be shot in the state.
The development also carries a larger employment and skill-building dimension, as TVF has proposed a ‘Job-on-Training’ model under which local youth in Bihar will receive professional film training while actively working on live production projects.
The proposal emerged during a high-level meeting in Patna involving senior officials of Bihar’s art and culture administration and representatives of TVF.
Meeting Focuses on Building Bihar as a Film Production Ecosystem
The meeting was attended by Pranav Kumar, who also serves as Managing Director of the Bihar State Film Development and Finance Corporation, General Manager Mrs. Ruby, TVF Founder Arunabh Kumar, and TVF President Vijay Koshy.
Pranav Kumar said the state government is actively working to build infrastructure that can support large-scale film production in Bihar.
According to him, the administration is committed to ensuring that filmmakers receive all required facilities—from permissions and logistics to grants and on-ground support.
He also stated that caravans owned by the state government can be made available as vanity vans for film crews.
Bihar Locations Offer Authenticity to Bihar-Based Stories
Pranav Kumar noted that many web series produced under the TVF banner already carry strong cultural and narrative connections to Bihar.
He said that filming such stories in actual Bihar locations would significantly improve authenticity.
According to him, Bihar offers a wide diversity of visual landscapes that remain underutilised by the film industry.
He added that film shooting in Bihar is already happening regularly and that no producer so far has reported any security-related difficulties.
Film Corporation Building Vendor and Skilled Workforce Database
Mrs. Ruby assured TVF that both the Film Corporation and the Department of Art and Culture would extend full support for shooting requirements.
She said Bihar is currently working not only on equipment and infrastructure support but also on building a professional database of vendors and skilled workers connected to film production.
The objective is to ensure that future productions entering Bihar can access local resources more efficiently.
Arunabh Kumar Says Shooting in Bihar Is Like Returning to His Roots
Arunabh Kumar said his connection to Bihar is deeply personal.
He stated that as someone from Bihar, he understands the state closely and believes many stories created by TVF have always carried the imprint of Bihar’s culture and social texture.
According to him, shooting films and web series in Bihar feels like repaying a debt to his motherland.
He said Bihar has no shortage of talent and has historically contributed significantly to art, literature and cinema.
‘Shiv-Shakti’ Among Upcoming Projects Planned in Bihar
Arunabh Kumar confirmed that TVF intends to shoot multiple future projects in Bihar, including Shiv-Shakti.
He said this would require parallel development of local talent, including actors, technicians and production workers.
According to him, engaging local manpower can reduce production costs while simultaneously creating employment opportunities.
Job-on-Training Model Proposed for Bihar Youth
A key proposal discussed was the introduction of a Job-on-Training model.
Under this framework, local youth would receive practical training while directly participating in ongoing film shoots.
Arunabh Kumar stressed that in filmmaking, practical exposure often matters more than formal academic qualifications.
He said young people should be trained while working, so that they build employable production skills immediately.
Panchayat Premiere Also Proposed in Bihar
Arunabh Kumar also expressed interest in hosting the premiere of TVF’s widely popular web series Panchayat in Bihar.
The idea reflects TVF’s intention to deepen cultural engagement with the state beyond production alone.
Government Sees Film Industry as Employment and Tourism Driver
Pranav Kumar said that combining film production with training can generate multiple long-term benefits for Bihar.
According to him, regular shoots can create employment, strengthen local service sectors, and simultaneously give national and international visibility to tourist destinations across the state.
He added that youth trained through such projects can become a future professional workforce for the film industry.
The Department of Art and Culture is expected to work with other departments to prepare a concrete action plan jointly with TVF in the near future.
TVF’s Strong Content Portfolio Adds Weight to Bihar Expansion
TVF has built a strong reputation in India’s digital storytelling ecosystem through highly successful titles such as:
- Gullak,
- Kota Factory,
- Aspirants,
- Half CA,
- and several others.
The production house’s decision to increasingly anchor projects in Bihar could significantly expand the state’s visibility in India’s screen economy.
