Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Udhayakumar has received significant recognition for his persistent dedication to service. Despite facing severe opposition, ASP Udhayakumar carried out a demolition drive by removing illegal flag poles, including those belonging to the DMK party, off the national highway in Kancheepuram district.
Social media has named ASP Udhayakumar, the true Singham officer from Kanchipuram, with residents and netizens showering him with flowers of gratitude. His admirable conduct was triggered by a Madras High Court injunction to remove illegal flag poles in the Sunguvarchathram bazaar region of Kancheepuram District.
Despite patient explanations from the revenue department and the police, Karunanidhi remained firm in his position. ASP Udhayakumar stood firm in his duties, saying, “I’m doing my job, don’t stop me, and sue me if I’m wrong.” He went on to order the removal of all illegal flag poles, including those belonging to the DMK and other parties.
Netizens praised the brave IPS officer’s actions on social media. They stated that the police’s image would be greatly improved.
The Madras High Court has issued orders for the immediate removal of unauthorized flagpoles raised by political parties along national highways in Tamil Nadu. The court’s judgment is in response to a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by Chennai-based lawyer R Ramalingam, which highlighted the proliferation of illegal flagpoles and their negative impact on public safety and traffic flow.
