New Delhi: Mr. Chacko M. Jose has assumed charge as the Executive Director and Head of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited’s Kochi Refinery on February 20, 2026. He succeeds Mr. M. Sankar, marking a significant leadership transition within one of India’s leading public sector oil refining companies.

With over 35 years of experience in the petroleum sector, Mr. Chacko brings deep operational and strategic expertise to his new role.

Professional and Educational Background

Mr. Chacko M. Jose is a Chemical Engineering graduate from Government Engineering College, Thrissur. He also holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Cochin University of Science and Technology.

Throughout his distinguished career spanning more than three decades, he has worked across three major petroleum refineries in India, handling key operational and strategic functions.

Extensive Experience in Refinery Operations

Over the years, Mr. Chacko has managed diverse portfolios, including:

Prior to this appointment, he served as the Head of BPCL’s Bina Refinery, where he was responsible for overall operational excellence and strategic leadership.

Mr. Chacko succeeds Mr. M. Sankar, who has now been appointed as the Head of BPCL’s Mumbai Refinery. This leadership reshuffle reflects BPCL’s strategy of deploying experienced executives across its refining network to ensure operational continuity, efficiency, and sustainable growth in India’s energy sector.

As Executive Director, Mr. Chacko will lead the operations of BPCL’s Kochi Refinery, one of India’s largest public sector refineries. Under his leadership, the refinery is expected to further strengthen its focus on:
