New Delhi: Sadhna Saptah 2026 was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to strengthen the skills and efficiency of India’s civil servants. The Sadhna Saptah 2026 initiative aims to improve governance by making officials more capable, modern, and citizen-focused. 

Organised by key government bodies, this week-long programme focuses on training, learning, and adopting new technologies. It plays a major role in achieving the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 by building a future-ready administrative system.

What is Sadhna Saptah 2026

Sadhna Saptah 2026 is a week-long national capacity-building programme for civil servants across India.

  • It is being held from 2nd to 8th April 2026
  • Organised by the Department of Personnel and Training, Capacity Building Commission, and Karmayogi Bharat
  • Aims to improve performance, efficiency, and skills of government officials

This initiative is one of the largest collaborative efforts in India’s civil services system.

Who is Participating in Sadhna Saptah 2026

The programme includes wide participation from across India:

  • 100+ Central Ministries and Departments
  • 30+ States and Union Territories
  • 250+ Civil Services Training Institutions

Civil servants from junior to senior levels are taking part through both online and offline platforms like the iGOT Karmayogi portal.

Key Objectives of the Sadhna Saptah 2026

The main goal of Sadhna Saptah 2026 is to create a modern, skilled, and citizen-centric governance system.

  • Improve decision-making and efficiency
  • Promote technology use including AI
  • Strengthen transparent governance
  • Enhance public service delivery
  • Align governance with citizens’ needs

Prime Minister Modi highlighted that governance must follow the principle of “citizen-first” and improve quality of life.

Sadhna Saptah is built around three main themes:

  • Focus on AI, digital tools, and data-based decisions

2. Tradition

  • Learn from Indian knowledge systems and ethics

3. Tangible Outcomes

  • Ensure policies deliver real results for citizens

Connection with Mission Karmayogi

Sadhna Saptah 2026 is part of the Mission Karmayogi programme, which aims to reform civil services.

  • Focus shifts from rule-based to role-based training
  • Emphasis on skills, behavior, and problem-solving
  • Continuous learning through digital platforms

This also marks 5 years of Mission Karmayogi, showing progress in modernising governance.

Participants will engage in:

  • Online courses on iGOT platform
  • Workshops and seminars
  • Group discussions (Samuhik Charcha)
  • Webinars with experts

These activities are designed to improve real-world governance skills.
