In a major step towards its clean energy ambitions, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) has awarded contracts for the development of two 50 MW wind power projects—one in Madhya Pradesh and the other in Maharashtra. These windfarms will serve the captive power needs of BPCL’s Bina and Mumbai Refineries, reducing dependence on fossil fuels and reinforcing the company’s sustainability commitments.
The Letter of Awards (LOAs) have been issued to M/s Suzlon Energy Limited for the Madhya Pradesh project and M/s Integrum Energy Infrastructure Limited for the Maharashtra site. These initiatives mark a significant milestone under BPCL’s renewable energy strategy.
BPCL’s green energy roadmap targets the creation of a 10 GW clean energy portfolio by 2040, in line with its pledge to become a Net Zero Energy Company for Scope 1 & 2 emissions by 2040. The move also aligns with India’s broader national goals to accelerate the transition toward renewable energy and reduce carbon footprints in the industrial sector.
