New Delhi: Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) received notable recognition for its renewable energy efforts as its flagship initiatives were featured in a prestigious coffee-table book published by the Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA). The book was officially unveiled by Uttar Pradesh Energy Minister Mr. Arvind Kumar Sharma, along with UPNEDA Director Mr. Inderjit Singh, IAS, during a high-level renewable energy event held in Lucknow.
BPCL Felicitated for Clean Energy Leadership
During the unveiling event, BPCL was felicitated for its contributions to clean energy and sustainability. The honour was received by Mr. Rajesh Kumar, State Head (LPG), Uttar Pradesh, and Ms. Astha Chaturvedi, Business Development Head – Renewable Energy, BPCL.

Panel Discussion: Powering Uttar Pradesh’s Renewable Future
Ms. Chaturvedi also represented BPCL in a thought-provoking panel discussion titled “Uttar Pradesh: Powering Tomorrow with Renewable Energy.” In her remarks, she showcased BPCL’s major renewable energy projects, focusing particularly on the upcoming 71 MWp Prayagraj Solar Project—a landmark initiative.
This project is set to become the largest single-location ground-mounted solar plant dedicated to fulfilling the captive energy needs of BPCL’s three refineries. The plant underlines BPCL’s long-term vision of transitioning to sustainable, green energy solutions and supporting India’s renewable energy goals.
