New Delhi: In a significant move aimed at accelerating India’s transition to cleaner energy, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) and Reliance BP Mobility Limited (RBML) have signed a collaboration agreement to expand their presence in the City Gas Distribution (CGD) sector, specifically focusing on CNG sales across key markets.
Partnership to Advance Clean Energy Vision
The agreement was formalized by Mr. Rouf Khan, CGM, Projects & Marketing (Gas), BPCL, and Mr. Sanjay Pandita, Head, Gaseous Fuels, RBML. The signing ceremony was attended by top executives, including:
- Mr. Sarthak Behuria, Chairman, RBML
- Mr. Subhankar Sen, Director (Marketing), BPCL
- Mr. Akshay Wadhwa, CEO, RBML
- Mr. Rahul Tandon, Business Head (Gas), BPCL
This partnership is part of BPCL’s Project Aspire, a flagship initiative to enhance its gas-based energy offerings and support India’s push for a sustainable and low-emission economy.
Expanding CNG Infrastructure Across India
Through this collaboration, BPCL and RBML will focus on:
- Expanding CNG retail network in priority cities
- Enhancing customer accessibility to clean gaseous fuels
- Leveraging joint infrastructure and technical expertise
- Supporting the government’s gas-based economy roadmap
This development aligns with the national strategy to increase the share of natural gas in India’s energy mix to 15% by 2030.
