BPCL Launches ‘Suraksha Bandhan’ Safety Initiative, Reaching Over 12,000 People Across India

Month-long program strengthens safety awareness in employees, customers, and transporters, marking BPCL’s 50 years of dedicated service with a focus on product handling, road safety, and health wellness

New Delhi: Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) has launched a landmark safety initiative called Suraksha Bandhan, marking a significant milestone as the company completes 50 years of dedicated service to the nation. The month-long program was designed to deepen the culture of safety among employees, customers, and transporters, reaffirming BPCL’s unwavering Commitment to Care.

A Multi-Module Approach to Safety and Wellness

Suraksha Bandhan was rolled out through three comprehensive modules — Suraksha Mitra, Suraksha Marg, and Suraksha Arogya — each addressing critical aspects of safety and well-being:

  • Suraksha Mitra: Focused on safe handling of petroleum products, this module educated employees and customers about best practices to prevent accidents and ensure safety at all levels of operations.
  • Suraksha Marg: Emphasized road safety measures and awareness campaigns targeted at transporters and drivers, helping to reduce road accidents and improve transportation safety standards.
  • Suraksha Arogya: Dedicated to health and wellness, this module promoted physical and mental well-being among participants, recognizing the integral link between health and safety.

Widespread Reach and Impact

The initiative has been a remarkable success, engaging over 50 customers, conducting more than 50 road safety events, and touching the lives of over 5,000 individuals directly. Across the nation, Suraksha Bandhan rolled out 280+ programs, reaching a total of 12,000+ people including employees, transporters, and community members.

This extensive outreach highlights BPCL’s proactive approach to creating safer work environments and communities, emphasizing that safety is a shared responsibility that binds everyone together.
