Former Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer Awanish Kumar Awasthi was on Friday appointed as the advisor to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
An order in this regard has been issued by the Appointment department. UP Governor Anandiben Patel has given her approval to create the post and appoint him as the advisor to the CM.
As per the order Awasthi has been appointed to give advice to the CM on administrative work till February 28 next year.
It may be noted that Awasthi retired as the Additional Chief Secretary (Home) on August 31. Along with Home, he held charges of various other departments, including UP Expressway Industrial Development Authority as the Chairman and Power Department.
