The Union Cabinet Secretary Mr. T.V. Somanathan (1987-batch Tamil Nadu cadre IAS officer) has lately launched an “Open House” initiative, allowing All India Services officers from across the country to meet with him without prior appointments. This initiative was formalized via a circular from the Cabinet Secretariat on October 18th and the meetings will be conducted on a first-come, first-served basis and shall be time-limited.
What Are “Open House” Meetings?
The goal of the ‘Open House’ is to offer convenience to secretaries who often need to urgently discuss official matters with the Cabinet Secretary. Additionally, state government officers frequently travel to Delhi for similar reasons, so this initiative provides them with much-needed relief. The ‘Open House’ sessions will be held from 10:00 AM to 10:20 AM on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, excluding holidays.
