In just three months of taking the charge as IGP, Ambala Range, IPS officer Bharti Arora has sought voluntary retirement from service.
In April this year, she was transferred and posted from Karnal to Ambala. She also held the additional charge of Karnal Range IGP till May 10.
In a letter to chief secretary Dr Vijay Vardhan through DGP Manoj Yadava on July 24, the 1998-batch IPS officer sought to be relieved by July 31, citing Section 16(2) of the All India Service (DCRB) Rules after attaining 50 years of age.
The other reason for which she is seeking voluntary retirement was mentioned in the last line of the letter which read, “spending the rest of her life in devotion to God”.
