New Delhi: The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) has announced the appointment of Arvind Kumar Rawat (IRSS: 2008) as Director in the Directorate of Sugarcane and Vegetable Oil, operating under the Department of Food and Public Distribution. His tenure will last five years, beginning from the date of assumption of charge or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Mr. Rawat is an officer from the Indian Railway Stores Service (IRSS) and brings years of administrative experience to this new role in the food sector, which plays a vital role in India’s agricultural economy and public distribution systems.
Ajitesh Kumar’s Deputation Extended as Director in Ministry of Coal
Ajitesh Kumar (CPES: 2006) has been granted a six-month extension in his tenure as Director in the Ministry of Coal, extending his central deputation till March 4, 2026, or until further orders.
This decision was approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC), as per a DoPT order dated September 3, 2025. His tenure was originally set to end on September 4, 2025.
Mr. Kumar began his central deputation as Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Coal on August 16, 2019, and officially assumed charge on September 5, 2019. He was redesignated as Director on January 1, 2022. So far, he has completed a full four-year term and has received two one-year extensions prior to this latest six-month extension.
Manoj Kumar Jain Repatriated to Parent Cadre
In another key bureaucratic movement, Manoj Kumar Jain (IRAS: 2000), who served as Executive Director (Engineering/IT) at the Food Corporation of India (JS level), has been repatriated to his parent cadre.
Mr. Jain, an officer of the Indian Railway Accounts Service (IRAS), played a crucial role in steering digital and engineering transformation initiatives at FCI. His repatriation marks the completion of his central deputation in one of India’s largest public sector organizations involved in food security.
