New Delhi: In two separate developments in the Indian bureaucracy, the Central Government has approved the cadre transfer of IAS officer U Vibu Krishna and accepted the voluntary retirement of IRS(C&IT) officer Shivakumar Krishnamoorthy Iyer.
Inter-Cadre Transfer on Marriage Grounds
U Vibu Krishna, a 2021-batch IAS officer of the AGMUT cadre, has been transferred to the Andhra Pradesh cadre. The decision has been taken on grounds of his marriage to IPS officer Sushmitha Ramanathan of the 2023 batch, currently allotted to the Andhra Pradesh cadre.
Inter-cadre transfers on marriage grounds are permissible under existing service rules, provided both officers belong to the All India Services and their requests are mutually supported by the respective state governments.
Voluntary Retirement of IRS Officer
In a separate order, the voluntary retirement of Shivakumar Krishnamoorthy Iyer from the Indian Revenue Service (Customs & Indirect Taxes) has been accepted by the competent authority.
He was serving as Assistant Commissioner at the National Academy of Customs, Indirect Taxes & Narcotics (NACIN), Kerala. The reasons for his early exit have not been disclosed in the notification.
These developments reflect ongoing personnel movements across cadres and services under routine administrative procedures.
