New Delhi: In a significant development in the public sector landscape, leadership transitions have been announced at two key government organizations — Dredging Corporation of India Ltd. (DCI) and the Tribal Co-operative Marketing Development Federation of India (TRIFED).
Capt. S. Divakar Appointed as MD & CEO (Additional Charge) of DCI
The Board of Directors of Dredging Corporation of India Ltd. has approved the appointment of Capt. S. Divakar, Chief General Manager, as the Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer (Additional Charge) of the company. He will assume charge from October 16, 2025, following the completion of tenure of Durgesh Kumar Dubey, IRTS, who served in the role on an additional charge basis until October 15, 2025.
In addition to the MD & CEO role, Capt. Divakar has also been designated as an Additional Director and Key Managerial Personnel (KMP). His appointment is effective until a regular incumbent assumes the post, or for a period of six months, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Capt. Divakar brings over 34 years of rich experience with DCI, having started his career as a cadet in 1987. He served onboard dredgers for 22 years, rising to the rank of Master of Dredger, before moving into senior onshore management roles for another 12 years. His extensive operational and techno-commercial expertise makes him a well-rounded leader to steer the organization during this transitional period.
P.S. Thuingaleng (IRS) Appointed as GM, TRIFED (North-East Region)
In another key appointment, the Government of India has approved the appointment of P.S. Thuingaleng, an IRS officer (Income Tax, 2008 batch), as General Manager (Director level) in TRIFED, under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs. He will be posted in Guwahati, overseeing operations for the Assam and North-East Region.
According to the official order, the appointment is on a deputation basis for a period of five years from the date of assuming charge, or until further orders, whichever comes earlier. TRIFED plays a crucial role in empowering tribal communities through marketing and development of tribal products and services, especially in regions like the North-East with a strong tribal presence.
These strategic appointments are expected to strengthen the leadership at both organizations, enabling them to further their respective missions — whether in maritime infrastructure and dredging services or in tribal welfare and regional development.
