New Delhi: In a major administrative reshuffle, the Central Board of Direct Taxes has transferred 18 senior Indian Revenue Service officers in the rank of Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax (Pr. CCIT) and Principal Director General of Income Tax (Pr. DGIT) across multiple regions of the country.
The transfer order, issued on Thursday, aims to realign senior leadership positions within the Income Tax Department across key zones including Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, and North Eastern Region.
The reshuffle covers officers from the 1989, 1990 and 1991 batches of IRS (Income Tax) and includes both regular transfers and additional charge assignments.

Senior-Level Changes in Delhi and Headquarters
Among the key postings, Jahanzeb Akhtar (IRS-IT: 1989) has been shifted from Pr. CCIT (NFAC), Delhi to Pr. CCIT (OSD), Bengaluru.
Debjyoti Das (IRS-IT: 1990) has been transferred from Pr. CCIT (Exemptions), Delhi to Pr. DGIT (I&CI), Delhi.
Rajeshwar Yadav (IRS-IT: 1990), serving at NaFAC, has been appointed as Pr. DGIT (Admin & TPS), Delhi.
Anita Sinha (IRS-IT: 1990) moves from Pr. DGIT (Training), Delhi to Pr. DGIT (HRD), Delhi.
Ashok Kumar Saroha (IRS-IT: 1990), earlier Pr. CCIT, North Western Region, has been posted as Pr. DGIT (L&R), Delhi.
Regional Pr. CCIT Appointments Across India
Several officers currently serving as Officers on Special Duty (OSD) have now been assigned full regional responsibilities.

- Sunil Bajpai (IRS-IT: 1990) → Pr. CCIT, Tamil Nadu & Puducherry
- Alok Kumar (IRS-IT: 1990) → Pr. CCIT, Mumbai
- Aparna M Agarwal (IRS-IT: 1990) → Pr. CCIT, UP (East)
- D Sudhakara Rao (IRS-IT: 1990) → Pr. CCIT, Odisha
- Priscilla Singsit (IRS-IT: 1990) → Pr. CCIT, Nagpur

The reshuffle also gives important assignments to 1991 batch officers.

- Mayank Priyadarshi → Pr. CCIT, North Western Region
- Pallavi Agarwal → Pr. CCIT (Exemptions), Delhi
- Rolee Agarwal → Pr. DGIT (Training), Delhi
- Mona Mohanty → Pr. CCIT, Madhya Pradesh & Chhattisgarh
- Vidisha Kalra → Pr. CCIT (OSD), Karnataka & Goa
- Suresh Battini → Pr. CCIT, Andhra Pradesh & Telangana
- Sanjeev Singh → Pr. CCIT (NaFAC & NFAC), Delhi
Additional Charge Assignments
The CBDT has also assigned additional responsibilities to two officers:
- Alok Kumar will additionally hold charge of Pr. CCIT, Pune
- D Sudhakara Rao will additionally oversee Pr. CCIT, Bihar and Jharkhand
These temporary assignments are often given to ensure continuity in senior tax administration until permanent arrangements are made.
