New Delhi: The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs under the Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance, has issued a major transfer and posting order involving 33 senior Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officers from the 1990, 1991, 1992 and 1993 batches in the grades of Principal Chief Commissioner, Principal Director General, Chief Commissioner and Director General of Customs and Indirect Taxes.
The reshuffle includes transfers across important customs, GST, intelligence, audit and training formations, while several officers have also been promoted in-situ.
The order reflects a broad administrative realignment across major tax administration zones and central directorates.
Principal Chief Commissioner and Principal Director General Level Transfers
Among the senior-most postings, Valte Vungzamuan has been moved from DGHRD (I&W) to Delhi Customs (Preventive).
Prachi Saroop has been transferred from Mumbai Zone-III Customs to Mumbai GST & CX as Principal Chief Commissioner.
Rimjhim Prasad has been shifted from DGPM PCC to Delhi GST & CX.

Several officers have been promoted in-situ to the rank of Principal Chief Commissioner / Principal Director General:

- Madan Mohan Singh – Chennai GST & CX
- Shrawan Kumar – Kolkata Customs
- Arti A Srinivas – DGARM
- Charul Baranwal – CC (AR), CESTAT

- Sanjay Rathi – Visakhapatnam GST & CX
- Nitish Kumar Sinha – Meerut GST & CX
These promotions strengthen leadership across customs, audit, legal and training institutions.
Chief Commissioner and Director General Transfers
At the Chief Commissioner / Director General level, several key transfers have been ordered:
- Shailendra Kumar Sinha moved from Guwahati GST & CX to DG Taxpayer Service
- S K Vimalanathan transferred from Trichy Customs (Preventive) to Chennai Customs
- Rajendra Singh shifted from DGGI (East), Kolkata to DG GST
- Sanjay Gupta moved from Delhi Customs (Preventive) to DGHRD (I&W)
- Charan Preet Singh Bakshi promoted to DGGI (East), Kolkata
- S Thirunavukkarasu shifted from DGGI (West), Mumbai to Principal DGGI Delhi
- Ramavath Srinivasa Naik transferred from Kolkata Customs to Kolkata GST & CX
The transfers cover intelligence, taxpayer services, customs enforcement and GST administration.
