CCL Hosts 39th Zonal Mine Rescue Competition 2025 Showcasing Excellence in Mine Safety

The two-day event at Mine Rescue Center, Ramgarh, showcased exceptional rescue skills and reinforced CCL’s commitment to mine safety and operational excellence.

New Delhi: The 39th Zonal Mine Rescue Competition – 2025, organized by Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) under the aegis of the Directorate General of Mines Safety (DGMS), concluded with a grand closing and prize distribution ceremony at CCL Headquarters, Ranchi. The event, held from October 8 to 9, took place at the Mine Rescue Center, Ramgarh, and Bhurkunda underground mines, showcasing the courage, skill, and preparedness of mine rescue teams.

NK Area Clinches Overall Best Team Title

In a closely contested competition, NK Area secured the Overall Best Team title, demonstrating exceptional rescue capabilities and teamwork. Barka Sayal team won the second-best team position, while Magadh-Sanghamitra bagged the third-best team award. These teams were honored during the prize distribution ceremony in recognition of their operational excellence and commitment to safety.

Leadership Commends Rescue Teams’ Dedication

The ceremony was presided over by CCL CMD Mr. Nilendu Kumar Singh, with Dr. S.S. Prasad, Deputy Director General, DGMS, gracing the event as the chief guest. Also present were Director (Finance) Mr. Pawan Kumar Mishra, Director (Technical/Operations) Mr. C.S. Tiwari, and Chief Vigilance Officer Mr. Pankaj Kumar, along with other senior officials.

Chief Guest Dr. Prasad lauded the promptness and dedication of all the participating rescue teams, emphasizing the importance of mine safety in the coal industry. CMD Mr. Singh reaffirmed that “Safety is CCL’s top priority,” appreciating the outstanding efforts and discipline of the teams that participated in the competition.

Cultural Performances Add Color to Closing Ceremony

The prize distribution ceremony concluded with cultural performances by the Military Band and students of DAV School, Gandhinagar, adding a festive touch to the solemn occasion. The event not only celebrated the winning teams but also highlighted the crucial role of trained mine rescue personnel in ensuring the safety of coal miners.
