Cooling-Off Waiver for Gujarat IAS Officer Ajay Kumar
Ajay Kumar, currently posted as Secretary to the Chief Minister of Gujarat, has received waiver of cooling-off period.
The waiver has been granted following his premature repatriation to parent cadre.
In administrative terms, waiver of cooling-off period allows an officer to become eligible for fresh central deputation or assignment without waiting through the standard mandatory interval.
This often happens in cases involving urgent administrative deployment.
Why These Orders Matter
Though routine in administrative terms, such appointments and extensions often indicate continuity in critical governance sectors.
The current orders affect:
• Internal security
• Disaster management
• Prime Ministerial security
• Agriculture administration
• Cadre mobility
The extensions also suggest that the Centre is retaining experienced officers in sensitive positions where institutional continuity is considered important.
