New Delhi: In another round of senior administrative decisions, the Union Government on Monday issued notifications covering important appointments, tenure extensions and additional charge assignments across multiple ministries and central institutions.

The latest orders include the appointment of a new Secretary in the Department of Posts, a director-level appointment in the National Archives of India, tenure extension of a senior officer posted in Union Public Service Commission, and additional vigilance responsibility in Steel Authority of India Limited.

The decisions also include a lateral extension involving the National Trust under the disability affairs department.

Renuka Tripathi Appointed Deputy Director in National Archives of India

Renuka Tripathi, an officer of the Indian Railway Personnel Service (IRPS), has been appointed as Deputy Director at Director level in the National Archives of India under the Ministry of Culture.

Her appointment will be for a period of five years.

The National Archives of India is responsible for preserving:

• Government records of historical importance

• Archival collections

• Administrative documents of long-term significance

The institution plays a major role in record preservation and public archival access.

Santosh Gopal Ajmera Gets Extension in UPSC

Santosh Gopal Ajmera, currently serving as Joint Secretary at Director level in the Union Public Service Commission, has received an extension in tenure.

His tenure has been extended up to 25 February 2028.

He has been on central deputation since 26 February 2021.

The extension indicates continuity in a key administrative role within UPSC, which manages:

• Civil services examinations

• Recruitment processes

• Service-related recommendations

Subrat Das Appointed Secretary, Department of Posts

Subrat Das, currently serving as Member (Technology & Estates) in the Postal Services Board, has been appointed Secretary, Department of Posts.

He will succeed Vandita Kaul following her superannuation.

The appointment places him at the top of one of India’s largest public service delivery networks.

The Department of Posts oversees:

• India Post operations

• Postal savings systems

• Parcel logistics

• Rural postal connectivity

• Digital postal expansion

His technology background within the Postal Services Board is expected to support ongoing modernisation efforts.

Rubina Ali Gets Extension as Joint Secretary and CEO of National Trust

Rubina Ali, presently serving as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Civil Aviation, has been extended as Joint Secretary and CEO of the National Trust on a lateral shift basis.

The National Trust functions under the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities.

Her tenure will continue up to 31 December 2026, the date of her superannuation.

The trust works for welfare of persons with:

• Autism

• Cerebral palsy

• Intellectual disabilities

• Multiple disabilities

The extension ensures continuity in disability-sector institutional leadership.

Vinod Kumar Tripathi Given Additional Charge as CVO of SAIL

Vinod Kumar Tripathi, currently Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Steel, has been given additional charge as Chief Vigilance Officer of Steel Authority of India Limited, Delhi.

The assignment will continue for:

• One year, or

• Until a regular CVO is appointed

The CVO role is crucial for:

• Vigilance monitoring

• Internal oversight

• Anti-corruption supervision

• Administrative integrity in PSUs

SAIL remains one of India’s largest steel public sector undertakings.
