New Delhi: The Government of India has issued a series of significant bureaucratic appointments and repatriations, as approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC). The latest notifications involve senior Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers across various ministries and departments.
Rajesh Aggarwal Repatriated to Maharashtra Cadre
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the repatriation of Rajesh Aggarwal (IAS: 1989: MH), Secretary, Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, to his parent cadre.
The repatriation has been made at the request of the Government of Maharashtra. Aggarwal has been serving as Secretary since August 2021 and has played a key role in policy implementation for the empowerment and inclusion of persons with disabilities.
Rajesh Lakhani Gets Additional Charge as DG, NTA
In another order, Rajesh Lakhani (IAS: 1992: TN), currently Commissioner, Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti under the Department of School Education and Literacy, has been assigned additional charge of Director General, National Testing Agency (NTA) under the Ministry of Education.
This additional assignment will be effective for a period of one year or until further orders, whichever is earlier. The National Testing Agency conducts key national-level entrance examinations, including JEE (Main), NEET (UG), and UGC-NET.
Shashank Mani Tripathi Appointed as OSD to Home Minister Amit Shah
The tenure of Shashank Mani Tripathi (IAS: 2015: AGMUT) as Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs under the Central Staffing Scheme has been curtailed.
Tripathi has now been appointed as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to the Minister for Home Affairs, Amit Shah, at the Deputy Secretary level. His appointment will be valid up to August 30, 2028, marking a crucial administrative move within the Home Ministry.
These postings reflect the Centre’s continuing efforts to ensure efficient administration and coordination across ministries. The appointments of senior officers in key positions, particularly within the education and home affairs sectors, underscore the government’s focus on policy execution and institutional leadership.
