The Central Government has cleared a series of significant appointments of Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officers to various key posts on deputation, across different ministries and departments.
Mr. Nishant Kumar Appointed Deputy Secretary at AIIMS
The Competent Authority has approved the appointment of Mr. Nishant Kumar, a 2015-batch IRS officer (C&IT cadre), as Deputy Secretary at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi. This is a non-Central Staffing Scheme (CSS) post under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Mr. Kumar will serve on deputation for a period of four years from the date he assumes charge, or until further orders, whichever is earlier. He has been directed to be relieved immediately to take up his new assignment.
Ms. Radha Katyal Narang Shifted as Director in Department of Official Language
Ms. Radha Katyal Narang, a 2005-batch IRS (IT) officer, currently serving as Director in the Department of Justice, has been transferred on a lateral shift to the Department of Official Language under the Ministry of Home Affairs. Her appointment has been approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) based on the recommendation of the Civil Services Board (CSB). She will hold the post under the Central Staffing Scheme until 07.09.2027, or until further orders.
Mr. Nilabhra Dasgupta Appointed Deputy Chairperson of Deendayal Port Authority
In another major move, Mr. Nilabhra Dasgupta, a 2008-batch IRS (IT) officer, who is presently serving as Deputy Chairperson of Paradip Port Authority, has been appointed to the same post at the Deendayal Port Authority in Kandla. This lateral shift was also cleared by the ACC as per an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on June 14, 2025. His tenure at Paradip Port has been curtailed to enable the new assignment, which will continue until 10.05.2028, marking the completion of his combined five-year deputation outside the parent cadre—or until further orders.
These appointments reflect the ongoing administrative reshuffles aimed at optimizing senior-level postings across critical sectors.
