New Delhi: In a recent administrative update, Sanjeev Chopra (IAS: 1990: OR), has been appointed to hold the additional charge of the Secretary, Department of Consumer Affairs. This appointment will be in effect during the period of leave taken by Nidhi Khare (IAS: 1992: JH), who will be on leave from December 26, 2024, to January 4, 2025.
Sanjeev Chopra, who currently serves as the Secretary of the Department of Food and Public Distribution, will temporarily oversee the responsibilities of the Consumer Affairs department.
This move ensures continued functioning of the department during Nidhi Khare’s absence.
