Hyderabad: In a significant administrative development, senior IPS officer Charu Sinha has officially taken charge as the Director General of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Telangana, promising a renewed push toward transparency, accountability, and corruption-free governance across the state.
Sinha, a 1996-batch IPS officer, previously served in various roles within the ACB — including Joint Director, Director, and in-charge Director General — and is widely credited with strengthening the Bureau’s operations.
“We will intensify the fight against corruption, uphold transparent governance, and ensure the protection of public interest,” Sinha said after formally assuming charge on Wednesday.
A Career Defined by Courage and Community Engagement
Charu Sinha’s career has spanned diverse policing environments — from anti-extremism operations in rural Andhra Pradesh to peacekeeping missions in conflict-ridden Kosovo, and leading key anti-corruption initiatives at the state level.

Charu Sinha holds a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature, History, and Political Science from St. Francis College for Women, Hyderabad, and a Master’s in Political Science from Hyderabad Central University.
