Bilaspur: In a boost to urban infrastructure in Chhattisgarh, the Urban Administration and Development Department has approved over ₹1.99 crore for civic development works in Bodri Municipality of Bilaspur district. The approval comes after clearance from Deputy Chief Minister and Urban Administration Minister Arun Sao.
The department has issued official orders to begin construction, focusing on improving roads and drainage systems across multiple wards.
Focus on Quality and Timely Completion
Deputy CM Arun Sao has directed officials to ensure that all construction work:
- Meets prescribed quality standards
- Is completed within the stipulated timeline
- Delivers immediate benefits to local residents
The emphasis is on creating durable infrastructure and improving everyday civic amenities.

Ward-Wise Development Plan
The approved budget will be utilized for constructing BT (bituminous) roads, CC roads, and RCC drains across several wards in Bodri. Key allocations include:
Road Development Projects
- Ward 7: ₹42.20 lakh for two BT-coated roads
- Ward 15: ₹3.13 lakh for BT road construction
- Wards 11–14: ₹41.61 lakh for BT road from Jhulelal Temple to Durga Temple
- Ward 14: ₹16.73 lakh for BT road from Atmanand School to main road
CC Road Construction
- Ward 6: ₹31.08 lakh for CC road from Rahangi Road to Muktidham
- Ward 10: ₹12.83 lakh for CC road from Darha Primary School to main road
Drainage Infrastructure
- ₹41.50 lakh for RCC drain construction from Peepal Chowk to Electricity Office (Rahanghi Mod)
Improved Connectivity and Urban Mobility
The project will focus on:
- Strengthening roads through bituminous (BT) coating
- Enhancing durability and smoothness of key routes
- Improving connectivity in residential and high-traffic areas
Additionally, CC roads in key wards will help build a more reliable and weather-resistant road network.
Better Drainage to Prevent Waterlogging
The construction of RCC drains is expected to:
- Improve water drainage during monsoon
- Reduce waterlogging issues
- Enhance overall sanitation and urban living conditions
The ₹1.99 crore development package for Bodri Municipality reflects the state government’s focus on strengthening urban infrastructure at the grassroots level.
