Raipur: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai inaugurated the 45th NTPC Junior National Archery Championship today at Swami Vivekananda Athletic Stadium, Kota Road, Raipur. He extended his best wishes for the successful conduct of the championship and motivated the participating players to perform at their best.
Boosting Sports Culture in Chhattisgarh
Speaking on the occasion, CM Sai said that Chhattisgarh is fortunate to host a prestigious national tribal sporting event. He highlighted the significant role of the “Khelo India” initiative, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in providing young talents across the country with opportunities to excel in sports. The Chief Minister emphasized that creating a supportive environment for sports development is a top priority for the state government.
CM Sai added that the government is committed to providing athletes with all necessary facilities and incentives to hone their skills. With the launch of new sports complexes under the Khelo India program, young talents in the state now have access to world-class training infrastructure.
Incentives for Olympic Achievers
The Chief Minister also announced generous rewards for athletes representing the state at the Olympics. Participants will receive Rs. 21 lakh for participation, while Olympic medalists will be awarded Rs. 3 crore for gold, Rs. 2 crore for silver, and Rs. 1 crore for bronze, underscoring the state’s commitment to nurturing sporting excellence.
Event Details and Participation
The 45th NTPC Junior National Archery Championship is being organized by the Chhattisgarh Archery Association in association with the Chhattisgarh Sports and Youth Welfare Department. The competition will run from December 22 to 30, 2025, featuring nearly 500 players from 30 states and Union Territories across India.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by prominent dignitaries including Vikram Sisodia, Secretary of the Chhattisgarh Olympic Association, former President and National Vice-President of the Chhattisgarh Archery Association Kailash Morarka, General Secretary Ayush Morarka, Ishwar Prasad Agrawal, as well as numerous athletes, coaches, managers, and sports enthusiasts from various states.
