Kabirdham: Kabirdham district took a significant step towards development as the foundation stone for its first government medical college was laid on Friday. The ceremony was attended by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, Assembly Speaker Raman Singh, Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma, Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, Pandaria MLA Bhavana Bohra, MP Santosh Pandey, and other senior leaders.
Medical College to Transform Healthcare and Education
Addressing the gathering, CM Vishnu Deo Sai stated that the establishment of the new medical college in Kawardha will secure a bright future for the youth of the district. Spread over 40 acres with an estimated investment of ₹306 crore, the college will provide modern healthcare facilities and ensure that students aspiring to pursue medical education can do so close to home. The Chief Minister acknowledged the support of the public and credited the “double-engine government” and the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for making this project possible.

Dr. Raman Singh highlighted that the medical college would bring significant improvements to healthcare services in Kabirdham. Residents will have access to advanced, world-class medical facilities locally, reducing dependence on distant cities for treatment of serious illnesses. The project will also provide easy access to specialist doctors and super-specialty services, ensuring timely and high-quality care for the community.

Deputy CM Vijay Sharma emphasized that the establishment of the medical college will open a new chapter of growth for the district.
