A high-level review meeting of the Electronics and Information Technology Department of Chhattisgarh was chaired by CM Vishnu Deo Sai at Mantralaya Mahanadi Bhawan on Thursday. The meeting focused extensively on strengthening digital infrastructure in the tribal-dominated regions of Bastar and Surguja.
Over 5,000 Mobile Towers Targeted in Remote Areas
CM Sai directed officials to expedite the installation of over 5,000 mobile towers and fiber optic networks in underserved and remote parts of Bastar and Surguja. The installation will take place in phases within a fixed timeline. He emphasized that robust connectivity is a prerequisite for accessible and efficient governance.
Vision for ‘Developed Chhattisgarh 2047’
Reiterating the state’s alignment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Developed India 2047’, CM Sai asserted that Electronics and IT will serve as a foundation for ‘Developed Chhattisgarh 2047’. He noted, “Strengthening digital infrastructure is critical to ensuring transparent, efficient and inclusive governance.”
e-District 2.0 to Enable Home-Based Access to Schemes
The Chief Minister highlighted the upcoming rollout of e-District 2.0, under which the state will expand its current 85 online services by adding 250 more offline services. This integration will allow citizens to avail themselves of government schemes from the comfort of their homes. He also instructed officials to upgrade the Chhattisgarh State Data Centre (CGSDC) to Tier-III standards to ensure digital reliability.
Review of Key IT and Digital Initiatives
CM Sai reviewed the progress of major projects including:
- Atal Monitoring Portal
- Niyaad Nellanar & LWE Saturation Dashboard
- BharatNet Phase-2
- Aadhaar Enrolment In-House Model
- e-Procurement and CG Swan
- Capacity Building programmes
He emphasized timely implementation and coordination among departments.
Key Highlights Shared by Department Officials
Principal Secretary Ms. Niharika Barik briefed the CM on the state’s digital milestones:
- Finalization of the data center upgrade tender pending for four years
- Launch of the Mineral 2.0 portal
- Implementation of the Wi-Fi Mantralaya Scheme
- Progress on the e-District Portal
- Submission of the proposal for BharatNet Phase-2 to the Centre
- Launch of the Atal Monitoring Portal, designed to track 100 KPIs across 19 departments
The meeting concluded with the Chief Minister directing officials to ensure timely execution of all digital projects to position Chhattisgarh as a leading state in digital governance by 2047.
