Raipur: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai participated in the grand Veer Bal Rally organized by the Chhattisgarh State Minority Commission on Saturday, celebrating courage, patriotism, and the legacy of the Sahibzade, the sons of Guru Gobind Singh Ji. The rally commenced from Marine Drive, where the Chief Minister flagged off over 5,000 participants, including school students, Scout-Guide members, and NCC cadets.
Cultural Performances and Courageous Displays
The event featured a range of cultural and traditional performances, including Gatka, a Sikh martial art that symbolizes bravery, along with inspirational tableaux highlighting Sikh history. These performances captivated the audience and created a deep emotional connection with the heroic legacy of Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s sons.
Remembering the Ultimate Sacrifice of Sahibzade
Addressing the participants, Chief Minister Sai highlighted the significance of Veer Bal Divas, celebrated annually on December 26, to honor the unparalleled sacrifice of Baba Zorawar Singh Ji and Baba Fateh Singh Ji. He noted that despite being only 9 and 7 years old, the Sahibzade displayed extraordinary courage, unwavering faith, and supreme sacrifice to uphold righteousness and truth.
“The sacrifice of the Sahibzade is not just a source of pride for the Sikh community but serves as an inspiration for all of humanity,” the Chief Minister said. He emphasized the importance of familiarizing the younger generation with their values and teachings, stating that the initiative of celebrating Veer Bal Divas nationally since 2022, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has strengthened the spirit of bravery, courage, and patriotism among children and youth.
Upholding Sikh Values and Historical Legacy
Chief Minister Sai further reflected on the life lessons imparted by Guru Gobind Singh Ji and the formation of the Khalsa Panth, which provided a path to fight injustice and oppression. Quoting the Guru’s inspirational words, “Sava lakh se ek ladaun, chidiyaan te main baaz ladaun, tabai Guru Gobind Singh naam kehlau,” he remarked that these teachings awaken courage and resilience in every Indian, reinforcing that determination and bravery, not just resources, pave the way to victory.
He congratulated the Chhattisgarh State Minority Commission and the Education Department for organizing the historic event, emphasizing the importance of keeping the legacy of the Sahibzade alive in the hearts of the youth.
Dignitaries and Special Guests
Cabinet Minister Khushwant Sahib praised the Sahibzade for inspiring fearlessness, integrity, and a “nation-first” attitude. Amarjit Chhabra, Chairman of the Chhattisgarh State Minority Commission, educated the audience about the historical context of the Sahibzade’s martyrdom. Other dignitaries present included Raipur North MLA Purandar Mishra, CREDA Chairman Bhupendra Savani, CGMSC Chairman Deepak Mhaskey, Dr. Varnika Sharma, Chairperson of the Chhattisgarh State Child Protection Commission, along with senior representatives of the Sikh community, social workers, and officials from various social organizations.

The Veer Bal Rally not only commemorated the courage of the Sahibzade but also inspired thousands of young participants to embrace bravery, uphold ethical values, and prioritize the nation. The event reinforced the message that the legacy of sacrifice, resilience, and truth transcends generations and continues to motivate children and youth across Chhattisgarh and India.
