Raipur: In a significant development towards achieving a Naxal-free Bastar, four active Maoist cadres, each carrying a reward of Rs. 8 lakh, surrendered in the Kistaram area, signaling growing trust, security, and development in the region.
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai described the surrender as a clear manifestation of the state’s ongoing efforts to establish peace and stability in Bastar, stating that the vision of “Naxal-free Bastar – Secure Chhattisgarh” is gradually becoming a reality.
Coordinated Security Measures Reduce Maoist Influence
Chief Minister Sai attributed this milestone to the coordinated and sustained efforts of the security forces, including the establishment of a robust camp system and enhanced regional presence. Improved road and communication connectivity has also contributed significantly to shrinking Maoist-affected areas, weakening their social base, and disrupting their operational capabilities.
“These measures have continuously restricted the movement and influence of Maoist groups, making it easier for cadres to choose the path of peace,” he said.

Policy of Rehabilitation and Reintegration
The state government maintains a clear policy for Maoists willing to abandon violence. Those who surrender are provided with opportunities for employment, security, and a dignified life, helping them reintegrate into mainstream society.
Chief Minister Sai emphasized, “This journey of peace, trust, and development in Bastar will continue with full commitment. The government remains steadfast in ensuring that development reaches every corner, making extremism increasingly irrelevant.”

Looking Ahead
The surrender of these four cadres represents a turning point in Chhattisgarh’s battle against Naxalism. As connectivity improves, governance strengthens, and security measures persist, the state is moving closer to achieving a Naxal-free Bastar, reinforcing the larger goal of a secure and prosperous Chhattisgarh.
