Raipur: The Chhattisgarh Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Mr. Vishnu Deo Sai, met today at Mantralaya (Mahanadi Bhavan) and approved several key decisions aimed at strengthening governance, supporting farmers, and ensuring a smooth functioning of the Legislative Assembly.

Governor’s Address for Eighth Session of Sixth Legislative Assembly Approved

This address will set the agenda for the upcoming legislative session, highlighting the government’s achievements and future policy directions.

Chhattisgarh Appropriation Bill 2026 Cleared

In preparation for the Budget Estimates 2026–27, the Cabinet approved the draft of the Chhattisgarh Appropriation Bill, 2026, which will be presented in the Legislative Assembly. Major Boost for Farmers: Krishak Unnati Yojana Differential Payment

In a landmark decision for the agricultural community, the Cabinet resolved that farmers who sold paddy at the Minimum Support Price (MSP) will receive the differential amount of Rs 3,100 per quintal in a single installment before the festival of Holi.

During the Kharif Marketing Year 2025–26, 141.04 lakh metric tonnes of paddy were procured from 25,24,339 farmers under the scheme.

This year, the state government will disburse approximately Rs 10,000 crore towards the differential price of paddy prior to Holi.

Under the Krishak Unnati Yojana, farmers can sell up to 21 quintals of paddy per acre at Rs 3,100 per quintal, which is the highest MSP in the country.

Over the past two years, more than Rs 25,000 crore has already been disbursed to farmers under this scheme. With the current payment, the total disbursement will reach Rs 35,000 crore, reflecting Chhattisgarh’s commitment to supporting its farming community and ensuring timely financial aid.

Significance of the Cabinet Decisions

Boost to Farmers’ Income: The Krishak Unnati Yojana differential payment ensures that farmers receive timely financial support, helping them celebrate festivals and invest in agricultural activities.

Strengthened Legislative Process: Approval of the Governor’s Address and the Appropriation Bill ensures smooth functioning of the assembly and timely presentation of the state budget.

Economic Development: With continued financial assistance to farmers and structured budget planning, the Chhattisgarh government reinforces its focus on inclusive growth, agricultural prosperity, and sustainable development.

Chief Minister Mr. Vishnu Deo Sai emphasized that these decisions reflect the government’s people-centric approach and its commitment to fulfilling promises made to farmers and citizens.
