Raipur: In a significant step towards improving healthcare services and creating employment opportunities for young people, the Chhattisgarh government on Thursday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Sri Sathya Sai Health and Education Trust. The agreement was inked in the presence of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, officials said.
The MoU, facilitated by the Chhattisgarh State Skill Development Authority (CSSDA), aims to develop quality human resources in the healthcare sector through a range of vocational training programmes. These initiatives are designed to equip the youth with specialized skills, enhancing their employability in hospitals, healthcare institutions, and emergency medical services across the state.
Focus on Skill Development in Healthcare
Under the agreement, both residential and non-residential training courses will be offered free of cost. The programmes will cover diverse fields within healthcare, including Medical Laboratory Technology, Cardiology Technician, ECG Technician, Cardiac Care Technician, and Emergency Medical Technician. These courses are expected to provide participants with the technical expertise needed to meet the growing demand for trained healthcare professionals.
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai emphasized the importance of skill development in driving state progress. “The government considers skill development as the backbone of growth,” he said, adding that the initiative would not only strengthen healthcare infrastructure but also open up extensive employment opportunities for Chhattisgarh’s youth.
Expanding Healthcare Services Across the State
Highlighting the broader impact of the partnership, CM Sai noted that trained personnel would play a crucial role in expanding healthcare facilities, particularly in remote and underserved areas. By developing a skilled workforce, the state aims to ensure that modern medical services reach every corner, improving both quality and accessibility of healthcare.
Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma, Minister Gajendra Yadav, Principal Secretary to the CM Subodh Singh, and C. Srinivas, Chairman of the Sri Sathya Sai Health and Education Trust, along with representatives from the Trust and officials from the Skill Development Department, were present during the signing ceremony.
Youth-Centric Approach to Healthcare and Employment
The initiative reflects Chhattisgarh’s focus on integrating skill development with socio-economic growth. By providing young people with practical training in essential healthcare services, the state government seeks to create sustainable career pathways while simultaneously strengthening the healthcare ecosystem.
With the launch of these vocational programmes, Chhattisgarh is poised to develop a pool of trained professionals capable of supporting hospitals, emergency services, and medical institutions across the state, ultimately benefiting both the workforce and the community at large.
