The Chairman of Coal India Limited (CIL), Mr. PM Prasad, recently visited the North Eastern Coalfields (NEC) in Margherita, Assam, to assess the operational performance of the Tikak and Tirap mines. During his visit, Mr. Prasad conducted a comprehensive review of NEC’s overall performance and engaged with trade union leaders to discuss ongoing projects and future initiatives.
Accompanying Mr. Prasad were Mr. Alok Lalit Kumar, Executive Director and Technical Secretary to the Chairman, Mr. K. Mere, General Manager of NEC, and other senior NEC officials. The visit underscored CIL’s commitment to enhancing operational efficiency and fostering collaboration with key stakeholders in the region. NEC’s operations are directly managed by CIL’s corporate office in Kolkata.
As part of his visit, Mr. Prasad also inaugurated the ‘9th Krida Mahotsav’ at Vivekanand Kendra Vidyalaya, NEC. This event, aimed at promoting sports and cultural activities among employees and the local community, reflects NEC’s dedication to fostering holistic development in its areas of operation.
The visit highlights CIL’s focus on improving its mining operations while maintaining strong community engagement and support in the northeastern region.
